In the mid 60’s I was asked to play in the Agnes Street Band for over a period of 32 years starting 2nd trombone after 6 months solo trombone and then bass trombone for The highlight of my musical career was to play in contests in Bellevue Manchester. Tetley, Leeds Town Hall and two Europeans top section contest in Cardiff and Nottingham plus 3 series of B.B.C. Television shows ‘’Star Brass’’ and accompanying Derek Southcott, Gordon Higginbottom, Phillip McCann and the Great Don Lusher. After a break of many years I attended a rehearsal of Just Brass, this band restored my interest in Brass Bands it was fun to play in and the members really made me welcome.
